Star Online - Ahead of DAP’s Johor candidate list unveiling, talk is Dr Boo to be dropped (extracts):

PETALING JAYA: DAP's Skudai assemblyman Dr Boo Cheng Hau’s political career is in jeopardy as speculation mounts that he is not on the Johor DAP candidate list.

DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng is expected to unveil the party’s candidates in Batu Pahat tonight (April 14).

It is learnt that Dr Boo had been given an ultimatum to contest in Labis or he would be dropped as the candidate for Skudai.

The ultimatum was made at a meeting between Lim, Johor DAP chairman Liew Chin Tong and Dr Boo on Thursday (April 12), sources said.

The second term Skudai assemblyman was given until Friday noon (April 13) to decide. It is unclear whether he has met the Friday deadline.

The sources said that Dr Boo is not keen because he is committed to serving the people of Skudai where he is a second term assemblyman.

He is also being made the scapegoat for Johor DAP’s inability to carry out its strategy of wiping out MCA in Johor, they alleged.

Unable to persuade any of its top leaders to contest in Labis against MCA vice-president Datuk Chua Tee Yong, the party leadership is trying to push Dr Boo out of Skudai and into Labis.

However, Dr Boo is not the only DAP figure who is unwilling contest in Labis.

First, it was Dr Tan Seng Giaw,

Next, it'll be Dr Boo Cheng Hau.

Dr Boo, you should now watch put for the Hell-Hound packs. They'll tear you apart because  ... to be truthful ... they don't even know why, other than you don't obey or align yourself to the Mighty Lim's, thus you must be attacked. Obedience must be utmost and secured.

You know our late Karpal Singh, don't you. Well, our hero had long gone, but those Hell-Hound packs didn't even respect Karpal's daughter, Sangeet Kaur.

Because she opposes the alliance of DAP and Mahathir, and reminded Lim Kit Siang to remember the DAP is a principled party and while there aren't any permanent friends or enemies, there must be permanent principles, she was torn apart by those Hell-Hound packs - let alone other lesser beings in DAP's perspective like Maryam Lee and Hafidz Baharom.

Those rabid attack dogs vilified, abused and hurled obscenities at her for her opposition to Mahathir. There was no modicum of respect, not even for the memory of the late Karpal Singh if not his daughter Sangeet.

Karpal, if alive, would have been broken-hearted to see so-called DAP supporters behaving worse than their foes whom they have condemned for such feral uncivilised behaviour. The pot has called the kettle black unashamedly.

You may be able to take those vile abuses but advise your family members not to look at the Net or they too will be broken-hearted and shocked by the ferocity and uncivilised behaviour of those attack hounds.

Dr Tan Seng Giaw, a DAP veteran of 40 years and MP for Kepong for 36 years, National DAP VP and a former Head of DAP Selangor was not spared, nor even extended basic party courtesy of being informed he was to be replaced in Kepong. Dr Tan learned of it from 3rd party sources and through the media. That's the behaviour of today's DAP - rude, cold-hearted, ruthless, biadab and discourteous.
