Election campaign in Penang begins

MM Online - MACC raids Penang government offices over undersea tunnel project (extracts):

GEORGE TOWN, Jan 9 — A team of Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission (MACC) officers raided the offices of several government agencies in Komtar in relation to an investigations into the state’s RM6.3 billion undersea tunnel project early today.

An officer from MACC Putrajaya confirmed that the team visited some offices in Penang to gather information for its investigations into the undersea tunnel project.

“We raided the offices and we only took a few documents to assist with the investigations.”

It is learnt that the team started making the rounds this morning and visited the Public Works Department, the Land and Mines Department in Komtar and a construction firm’s offices here.

MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner (Operations) Datuk Seri Azam Baki told Berita Harian that the team seized some documents in the raids to the offices this morning to get more information on the undersea tunnel project.

He was quoted as saying that the raids were based on new evidence submitted to the anti-graft agency recently.

Last Saturday, Parti Cinta Malaysia lodged a second report alleging new evidence on the undersea tunnel project to MACC in Putrajaya.

Looks like Parti Cinta Malaysia (wakakaka), an unwanted clone of Gerakan, has been active and has to be active to be seen as still active (alive, wakakaka again).

And looks like the serious pre-election campaign for GE14 in Penang has begun.

Star Online reported last year that Parti Cinta Malaysia wants to team up with PAS (extracts):

ALOR SETAR: Parti Cinta Malaysia (PCM) is expected to join forces with PAS’ third bloc, known as Gagasan Sejahtera.

PCM president Datuk Huan Cheng Guan said the Penang-based party was discussing the possibility with PAS after their muktamar.

Gagasan is made up of PAS, Parti Ikatan Bangsa Malaysia (Ikatan) and Barisan Jemaah Islamiah Se-Malaysia (Berjasa). [...]

“Currently, we are an independent party, but PAS has been a good friend, and this may change into a closer working cooperation. I see that there can be an alliance in Penang.

“We also hope many more NGOs will join the pact,” he added.

Huan added that joining Gagasan Sejahtera and becoming an ally to PAS would be the right decision as there is no other active Malay-based opposition.

Wakakaka, I see that Huan Cheng Guan wants another 'Mahathir' to penetrate the Heartland for Malay votes for his Parti Cinta Malaysia.

Help, I'm going to sue the Star Online for making me laugh too much until my ribs are about to break, wakakaka.

  1. You should not be supporting Mahathir-allied parties to govern Penang, right ?
