What makes many DAP people ashamed

Star Online - Tanjung Bungah rep: Dr M's role in Opposition hastened my decision to quit DAP (extracts):

PETALING JAYA: Penang DAP rep Teh Yee Cheu says Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's presence in the Opposition bloc hastened his decision to leave the party.

The Tanjung Bungah assemblyman, who had voiced his intention to quit the party over various issues concerning the environment, said the former prime minister was also a contributing factor.

"He caused many of the problems we face today. He comes in without making apologies and now he leads the Opposition.

"In the past, he didn't care about the Opposition but now he is making use of it," he told a news portal during an interview.

Teh also questioned the ideology of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, which is headed by the veteran statesman.

Pribumi is now part of the Pakatan Harapan Opposition alliance, which includes PKR, DAP and Amanah.

"I felt that DAP, together with PKR and Amanah were already on the right track.

"What is (Pribumi's) ideology? It is just about removing someone from office. What comes next?

"It doesn't have a clear ideology nor a clear direction for the nation," he said, adding that there are DAP veterans who also disagree with the new pact.

Teh Yee Cheu is correct, that Pribumi like PKR has been and is a single-issue political party.

PKR's single issue was to free Anwar Ibrahim (from his initial imprisonment) and as far as possible, to make him PM. In other words, t'was all about and is still about Anwar Ibrahim.

Pribumi's single issue was to knock out Najib Razak (from his PM position) and as far as possible, to make Mukhriz (or Mahathir's nominee) PM. In other words, t'was all about and is still about Mahathir.

Apart from the common party single-issue objective, PKR and Pribumi shares identical target, namely, Najib Razak, wakakaka.

The Anwar faction was out to get Najib, then DPM, to remove him as an inconvenient obstacle to Anwar rejoining UMNO as a DPM to AAB. Then Anwar had a more modest initial aim to be DPM to AAB before he saw himself as the 6th PM of Malaysia.

Hence I wasn't and haven't been surprised by the Altantuyaa murder-scandal, which I admit I came to with interest quite late in the saga. That scandal and the preposterous nonsense about a high-heeled beehive-hairdo-ed Rosmah menurun padang to personally oversee the demolition of Altantuyaa's corpse, was supposedly the political Hiroshima for Najib, then apparently rumoured in political circles as a notorious lover-boy.

Pribumi has a similar story line. Teh Yee Cheu has been spot on in asking "What is (Pribumi's) ideology? It is just about removing someone from office. What comes next?

"It doesn't have a clear ideology nor a clear direction for the nation."

Though recently Mahathir has accepted responsibility for Ops Lalang, don't be too elated.

He only did so (ie. accepted responsibility but NOT apologise for Ops Lalang) because he SIGNED the papers leading to the arrest of detainees in that draconian police dragnet. With those 'dhoby-marks', he could NOT bullshit his way out of that by resorting to 'melayu mudah lupa-ness' again, hence he grudgingly has to accept that responsibility.

But ask yourself, did he apologise for Ops Lalang?

Of course he did NOT.

As usual he blamed someone else, this time the police.

for power, all Mahathir's woes so easily forgotten

Mahathir is totally unrepentant for his 22-years of holy terror, and Pakatan especially the DAP (under Lim Kit Siang) has the flabbergasting temerity to anoint, accept and adulate him as coalition Leader and thus its future PM.

PSM chairman Dr Mohd Nasir Hashim was reported as saying Pakatan must have a dreadful dearth of leaders to even consider a former dictator like Mahathir.

Yes, Pakatan flip-flops between Anwar and Mahathir with Pakatan Chinese and Indian leaders as non-starters because of their 'inferior' race. I bet if Mahathir were to collapse permanently tomorrow, Pakatan will direct their kow-tows to Muhyiddin or in dire desperation, Mat Sabu, or to 'return' to an incarcerated Anwar Ibrahim.

Take your pick, a jailbird or a former 92-year old dictator.

Dr Mohd Nasir Hashim also said Mahathir is like ”some things [that] are just hard to change.”

“If you ask me, it better not be Mahathir again. He has a history and it’s not easy for people to change, even at his age.

“These days, every time he opens his mouth, it’s like he is slapping himself in the face. Because all those things he said about other people, he did it before too,”

Thus I am not surprised by Teh Yee Cheu and undeniably more DAP members feeling being 'dirtied' by DAP's association with a man like Mahathir, someone who dislikes the Chinese. Hence Teh has expedited his exit from DAP.

It's only Lim Kit Siang and his latter-life power-craziness that has brought the DAP into such shameful hypocritical disgrace, disrespect and disrepute.

  1. Teh is a principled man who opposed development on hills in Tanjung Bungah and who will stay with DAP until parliament is dissolved and the elections are held.

I'm sure that most of those who voted for him did so because of the party he represnted and not for him personally, so he has an obligation to those who voted for him to remain on as a DAP member until the end of his term.

  2. The opposition cannot get it's duck to stand in a row. There is always infighting, backstabbing and sabotaging.Whether these trouble makers are unhappy campers, because they have been neglected as elected officials or are brutuses. That is the reason I have said many times that the opposition is going to get creamed in GE14.

When Mahathir joined hands with the opposition,I thought that finally there is someone,Mahathir, who will get the opposition ducks to march in a straight line. The opposition deserves to get brutalized by Umno/BN to teach them a lesson.Fight among yourselves and let the enemy shoved a baton into your stinky assholes.

Yes I agree with YB Teh absolutely.

"A prominent economist today criticised Pakatan Harapan for focussing too much on the 1MDB controversy instead of the other scandals plaguing the country".

Yes, Jomo Kwame Sundaram, I agree wih you absolutely too. And yes, I am with you too - the Malays won't accept opposition, even if unhappy with BN.

Who says to the white bitch that PAS received dedak RM90 million from PM Najib? Perhaps, the opposition is feeding too many bitches with its own dedak?

  5. Just a bit of historical context....
    http://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/nation/2015/11/25/penang-dap-organising-secretary-resigns/

Teh Yee Cheu is a Penang ADUN.
He has a limited role in DAP's national policy.

His bringing up the issue of DAP's engagement with Mahathir was almost a throwaway line, a parting shot, more a personal concern and less a matter of DAP policy.

The fact is he is quitting because the DAP Penang policy towards development, and especially Developers have basically left him castrated and useless.

He had repeatedly brought up concerns about unbridled development and lack of environment protection in his constituency , Tanjong Bungah, and been ignored by the Pro-Developer DAP Administration.

Ends up, he has been booed by local citizens, as the lone DAP attendee in environment forums. The straw which broke the camel's back was the Landslide tragedy at the Tanjung Bunga construction site.
It surfaced that DOE had advised that the project should not proceed. The DOE was not a statutory approving authority for this relatively small project, so the Penang State authorities bulldozed the approval trough....and we now have the tragedy.

Teh Yee Cheu's position as a pro-environment DAP ADUN had been left untenable, just a castrated "eunuch", so it was right that he step down.
