Karmic retribution again?

What does YB Padang Besar His Most Immaculate Wisdom Zahidi Zainul Abidin says about MM Online report that Thunderstorm causes flash floods to Seremban and Johor and about the Star Online report that a freak storm blew off the rooftops of eight houses in a village in Pendang.

Karmic retribution?

  1. The flash floods in Johor yesterday were relatively minor matters. A few blocks of shophouse areas flooded for a few hours.
Not like the near-Biblical scale of the Penang floods.

    3. Everything in this world has a cause and effect.
The manifestation in Physics is Newton's 3rd Law.

Karma or Divine powers don't need to be invoked.

I would say Penang has suffered from years of accelerating environmental degradation under successive administrations. The impact of the severe weather was seriously exacerbated by human-induced environmental damage.

A lot of THAT is the outcome of neglectful governance.

  2. Karmic retribution?

Within the true understanding of the Zen Buddhism concept, karma applies to self, entity, group within a CLOSED SYSTEM.

Ie, one faces karmic retribution ONLY upon oneself, this or next life.

    Similarly with entity or group.

Anything/anybody, outside that closed system face zilch karmic effect.

The closest concept of 一人做事一人当 (yī rén zuò shì yī rén dāng).

So, don't twist a well-defined concept to suit yr rant lah.
