Gaza - who's terrorizing who?

Snapshots from the Sydney Morning Herald and Malaysiakini Week 2 of Israeli Gaza blitz, no end in sight:

[...]

A missile fired by an Israeli jet slammed into a house in southern Gaza, killing three boys, aged from seven to 10. It was one of more than 58 fresh raids carried out on Friday.

A 12-year-old girl died of her wounds after the bombing of a house near Gaza City belonging to a member of Islamic Jihad, and two gunmen from the armed wing of Hamas were killed in Jabaliya after firing rockets, medics said.

On Saturday, an army spokesman said air attacks on "Hamas infrastructure'' were continuing into the predawn hours.

[...]

Since then, at least 435 people have been killed, including 66 children, and 2150 wounded, according to Gaza medics.

The bombardment has demolished dozens of houses and heightened concern over the humanitarian situation in Gaza ... [...]

Max Gaylard, the UN humanitarian coordinator for the Palestinian territories, said "there is a critical emergency in the Gaza Strip right now ... By any definition this is a humanitarian crisis and more.''

Thousands of Hamas faithful attended the funeral of Nizar Rayan - a firebrand hardliner who was killed with his four wives and 11 children on Thursday.

[...]

The United States gave Israel free rein on whether to invade the overcrowded enclave, insisting that the key to a ceasefire is Israel's demand for Hamas to permanently halt rocket fire.

"So I think any steps they are taking, whether it's from the air or on the ground or anything of that nature, are part and parcel of the same operation,'' said White House spokesman Gordon Johndroe.

"Those will be decisions made by the Israelis.''

President George Bush, meanwhile, urged all able parties to press Hamas to stop firing on Israel to facilitate a lasting ceasefire.

"The United States is leading diplomatic efforts to achieve a meaningful ceasefire that is fully respected,'' Bush said in his weekly Saturday radio address, the text of which was released late on Friday.

"I urge all parties to pressure Hamas to turn away from terror, and to support legitimate Palestinian leaders working for peace."

"... leading diplomatic efforts to achieve a meaningful ceasefire ..."? How can such a unmitigated biased and prejudiced US President lead diplomatic efforts?

"The United States gave Israel free rein on whether ..." What a f* obscene liar Bush is.

We know the neo-Nazis are killing those children but guess why those Israeli jackbooted SS sturmtroopers feel so unrestrained in their massacring of toddlers?

And I really wonder who's terrorizing who?

  1. Its been well known for hundreds of years that Jews like to kill children.

    No surprises.

  2. I must be one of the last few living Jews left in Malaysia. I know all the rest of my extended family now lives in Australia.
I still consider myself a follower of Judaism, though the last synagogue closed down years ago due to a lack of adult quorum, and I dare not openly profess my religion.

Let me say forthrightly up front that I do not support Israel's actions in the Gaza and other occupied territories. But I support Israel's right to exist as a nation.

It pains me that criticism of Israel's actions (which is legitimate) in this country is usually couched in anti-Yahudi language. I am a loyal Malaysian citizen, but every day I get reminded that Malaysia officially hates people who profess my religion.

Correct me if I am wrong, but to me much of the tone of this blog serves to perpetuate and inflame this hatred.

  3. Annonymous, you're an idiot of the highest order, and a racist one at that.

Menasseh, I disagree that teh blog seeks to inflame hatred at Jews but the Israelis policies on Palestine is doing nothing to gain itself peace. Israeli politicians are more keen to project themselves as being 'tough' with elections looming and if that means killing Palestinians, then well why not? After all, they are seen as being the modern day untermenschen. How ironic...

  4. Yes, Menasseh, stripped of the flowery language, Ktemoc is just another two-bit hate-mongering blog.

For what its worth, I have notified Blogger Admin of the hate-inciting content of this blog.

  5. So Bush is a liar and Hamas are saints. Wake up KT.

  6. Excerpts:
    http://socialismoryourmoneyback.blogspot.com/2009/01/peace-in-palestine.html

Our opposition to Zionism does not mean that we support the PLO. Unlike some, we don’t single out Jewish nationalism for special condemnation. We condemn all nationalisms equally. The “Palestinian nation” is just as much a myth as the “Jewish nation”, or any other nation. Nationalism is the ideology which seeks to justify the capitalist division of the world into separate “nation-states”, each competing to gain a place in the sun for its ruling class and each with killing machines at its disposal. We utterly reject this view of the way humanity should organise itself.

As Socialists we re-affirm that all peoples should seek their emancipation, not as members of nations or religions or ethnic groups, but as human beings, as members of the human race. They should unite to abolish the division of the world into so-called nation-states and to establish a World Cooperative Commonwealth of which we will all be free and equal members - citizens of the world, not subjects of nation-states.

  7. You fire rockets into my house, and when I strike back, you accuse me of genocide! A typical terrorist tactic

  8. anon of 5:20 AM, January 04, 2009, while I don't condone killing (including firing of rockets at someone), I ask: have you ever given some thoughts as to why Hamas has been firing rockets into Israeli houses?

    No, it's obvious you haven't or won't!

Say, if you build your house on someone's land, you shouldn't be surprised if the owner of the land rips your house down as an illegal structure on his property.

OTOH, if you are an invasive, intruding, insidious thug with a BIG BIG Taiko behind you, who provides you with all sorts of superior weaponry to arm your gang of thugs to bash any opposition or protests from the owner of the land, what would/could the owner of the land do, especially when your BIG BIG Taiko threatens other parties from interfering in your continuing illegal occupation of someone's land?

I suppose you want the owner of the land to sit quietly in the prison, the racist-regulated-restriction of a Bantustan, you've built to restrain and oppress him (hopefully into convincing him it'd be better for him to leave the land for good).

Get a perspective of what's going on for the last 60 over years! It's Jacob cheating his brother Esau as well as Father Isaac all over again.

  9. Sorry, I'm neither a Christian nor a Jew nor a Muslim.
What's all this ancient bullshit about Jacob, Esau, Isaac, Edom, Joab ?

There's a war going on, and unfortunately, toddlers and old women get killed in wars.
That's why Its best NOT to have wars.

    Hamas fired rockets into Israel.

Sure, I understand the severe pressures which the Gazans have been subject to, and Hamas was justified to hit Israel. But Israel will hit back in what is essentially a war zone now.

Dead toddlers ? Yes, bad. But don't be a crybaby about neo-Nazi stormtroopers.

"Responsiblity means accepting the consequences of your actions or inactions" - and that applies to Israel, USA AND Hamas and the Palestinians

  10. There is no turning back the clock.

No point shooting rockets for something that happened many many years ago.

Stirring up a hornet's nest! & as the saying goes... let (big & fierce) sleeping dogs lie.

Especially people whom have had so many of their citizens killed in the past (leads a little to communal paranoia)... over 5 million Jews murdered during the holocaust - 3 million of them Polish (only 1,500-2,000 Polish Jews survived the holocaust).

Anyway, talking about the global situation, we don't see Jewish Jihadi terrorists, suicide bombers, honour killings, oppressing and killing their own race / Jewish people... unlike you know who.

  11. Anon of 11:39 AM, January 04, you mouthed 'responsibility' as if the current status quo in Palestine (Gaza) is an accepted fait accompli, neither viewing nor being mindful of the historical context of the 'injustice' for the Palestinians.

'Responsibility' is about ensuring 'justice' for the rightful owner. Even more than this, 'responsibility' is ensuring that in today's world, military actions are not disproportionately and indiscriminately murderous, nor cloaked under the guise (and intrinsic power of the perpetrators) of anti-terrorism when the perpetrators of the carnage in Gaza are themselves the true terrorists.

The criticisms against Hamas and its so-called patron, Iran, reek malodorously and shamefully of double standards when the criminal actions of the terrorist Israel and its terrorist patron, the USA, both of whom have wrought destruction, death and despair on foreign lands and millions of those people to near genocidal dimension, are viewed with cultural cringe or complicit silence.

The one-sided (and incorrect) targeting for those criticisms is an indictment of the absence of human rights values.

    ***

Surind, when you're the region's superpower with an US-equipped air force and army that could hold off several Arab nations, why would there be a need for acts of desperations or despair, for these would be what suicide bombers had been.

Honour killings aren't the monopoly of Arabs, for Pakistanis and very conservative HIndu/Muslim Indians have been equal subscribers

  12. Highly classified, top-secret documents are said to have leaked on the net that suggested that one of the following alleged incidents may be the likely cause of the present slug-a-thon between Hamas and the Israeli army:

    Document #1:
Some obscure Israeli politician said something which Hamas considered hurtful to their feelings. Well, as everyone knows, many politicians the world over suffer from foot-in-mouth disease and always manage to offend some party or other whenever they open their mouths. So, anyway, Hamas fired off a few rockets across the border to show that they are miffed.

    Document #2:
The Israelis were caught red-handed surreptitiously dumping their garbage over the fence into the Gaza strip. Outraged, Hamas tossed some rockets back over the fence to let the Israelis know that they are not amused.

    Document #3:
A bunch of leggy, bouncy, buxomy, nubile, young Jewish virgins in skimpy bikinis were sunning themselves in full view of the Gaza Islamic College. This caused much consternation and handwringing among the holy scholars. Hamas was duly informed about this intolerable Israeli provocation and thus Hamas fired off a dozen rockets into Israel bearing the warning: Hey, you foxy ladies over there - can't you see that our holy men are trying to concentrate on their holy books. How dare you brazenly display your wares to distract them. Kindly cover up with a burqa or chador right now. And leave the area immediately, please. Ever since your appearance here, attendance at holy lectures has strangely and inexplicably plummeted precipitously. This is totally unacceptable. Therefore, you girls, listen to me - cover up or be blown up.

    Document #4:
Israel was clandestinely running a pig farm inside Hamas administered Gaza. Hamas was utterly horrified on discovering this. Oooh, those wicked, sneaky Jews they harrumphed! Thereupon, Hamas slammed a few rockets into Israel to register their disgust.
    ---------- ----------

Hmm, wonder which of the above is true?!!

  13. Agree that there is a lot of double standards and hypocrisy in the world today, with so many of the power players and even the developing and poorer countries.

    All (both) are guilty.

Some of course, did more of those in the past and have adopted a different strategy in the present going into the future. Only time will tell if they are actually practicing what they preach and maintain their ethos.

All efficient but ineffective strategies and so called solutions, will only allow for more war, suffering, death of civilians of the human race, etc.

    Moving on...
