Water, God, House of God & the Police

Hmmm, so water is God’s gift!

malaysiakini reported that six religious groups including Abim, the Archdiocesan Office for Human Development (AOHD), the Buddhist Missionary Society of Malaysia (BMSM) and the Council of Churches of Malaysia (CCM) signed a joint declaration that:

“Water is God's gift to people, it is essential for life and belongs to everyone. People should enjoy this right without discrimination”.

I wish they would leave out the part about God. I am just surprised that the Buddhist Missionary Society of Malaysia would sign such a statement. Perhaps they did it in support of the importance of life-giving water rather than belief in an Almighty?

And the term ‘Buddhist Missionary’ is really an oxymoron.

But other than that, I support their declaration.

The seminar was originally to be held at the National Mosque but police after having approved the meet,
revoked it. Didn't I say something about leaving religion out of such an important event? Once religion is involved, certain people would become terribly territorial.

The organisers had to move the event to the National Union of Bank Employees’ (NUBE) headquarters in Brickfields
