The Ron Bakir Story - National Party Candidate?

Lawrence Springborg, leader of the Gold Coast branch of the Australian National Party believes Ron Bakir, the ‘financial backer’ of Schapelle Corby is a knight in shining armour.

(though Foreign Minister Alexander Downer stated that the Aussie government paid for Corby’s legal fees)

Springborg supports Bakir standing as a National Party candidate.

In the last election, Senator Ron Boswell, National Party Senate leader stood for election with a catchy slogan, "He's not pretty, he's pretty effective", in a sarcastic jab at his opponent, populist politician Pauline Hanson.

If Ron Bakir is nominated by the National Party, he may wish to take up my suggestion for him to use the same slogan - he's certainly proved himself to be pretty effective in making himself very well-known, from bankrupted obscurity to sole director & shareholder of Schapelle Corby Pty Ltd to now potential National Party candidate.
